Is there a Selfish Romance Novel?
No. “Selfish Romance” does not have an official novel version. Many popular Korean webtoons started as web novels before becoming comics. That is why readers who don’t want to wait for weekly updates often check whether a novel version exists to read ahead. Especially in the historical romance niche, there are many novel-based webtoons, like “Under the Oak Tree.”
But “Selfish Romance” isn’t one of those. It was created as a webtoon, not adapted from a novel. Gyogyo Park is credited as both the writer and artist, and the story exists in official form only as a webtoon. “Selfish Romance” Bonus Episodes
There are some special chapters for “Selfish Romance”, but they aren’t novel chapters, regular bonus romance chapters, or an official epilogue.
Gyogyo Park worked on a separate commissioned project for the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency. These episodes are part of a campaign-style webtoon about AIDS and STI prevention. However, they do feature Yumin and Hyeondo, which makes them interesting for “Selfish Romance” fans.
So if you are looking for more “Selfish Romance” content while waiting for Season 2, the KDCA chapters are worth checking out. Just do not expect them to be a normal continuation of the main story.

Is “Selfish Romance” Finished?
Although the hiatus may seem like it’s never-ending, “Selfish Romance” isn’t finished. Only season 1 is completed with 51 episodes. The author has confirmed Season 2 will return in spring 2026, but no specific release date has been announced as of this writing. The Korean version on Naver will premiere first, followed by the English version on Webtoon. If we are lucky, they will publish it simultaneously, if not, and it will turn out like No Office Romance – we could wait months.
