Our Walk Home Hiatus and Return Date

Our Walk Home Creator Shares New Hiatus Update – Here’s When It Might Return

Our Walk Home is still on hiatus, and fans are waiting for news. Creator furanc0 shared a new update on April 20, 2026 – here's everything we know.

Our Walk Home is one of those sweet BL Webtoons that hook you very quickly. Two boys, two rival schools, both the aces of their respective academies, but handling that pressure in completely different ways. One is anxiety-ridden and constantly one bad grade away from spiraling, the other is the chill ikemen prince who makes everything look easy. If you’ve ever wished Boarding School Juliet were BL and a Webtoon, this is basically it.

And readers clearly agree. With only 36 free episodes so far, Our Walk Home has pulled in over 20.6 million views on Webtoon – which is a wild number for a series this short. But that kind of rapid fandom growth also brings a lot of pressure onto a single creator, and over the past two years, creator furanc0 has been open about the toll it’s taken. The series has been on a series of hiatuses throughout 2024 and 2025 – and as of writing, it’s still on pause.

Here’s everything that has officially been shared about the current Our Walk Home hiatus and when we can realistically expect it back.

The Latest Update: April 20, 2026

On April 20, 2026, furanc0 shared a new update with fans after months of silence. The short version: he’s doing well, but production is slow, and he’s made a very deliberate choice about how to handle that.

The most important line from the update is this one:

“Truth be told, given my slow production pace, it could probably come back faster if I worked on OWH essentially 24/7… but I’ve decided to prioritize both my physical and mental health, which were on decline these past months, in this process.”

He also confirmed that there is now a rough target for the return:

“i consulted with my editor and she has agreed with this approach. we do have a tentative comeback ‘month’ in 2026 set as a goal, but even that could change.”

So, no firm return date yet, but the series is actively being worked on, there’s now a tentative comeback month in 2026 on the table, and the creator sounds like he’s in a better headspace than he was earlier in the year. That’s arguably the most important piece of news here.

  • Sep 18, 2024 → Nov 27, 2024: ~10 week hiatus between Episode 24 and 25
  • Dec 18, 2024 → Jan 22, 2025: ~5 week hiatus between Episode 26 and 27

  • Jul 9, 2025 → Aug 13, 2025: ~5 week hiatus between Episode 33 and 34
  • Oct 8, 2025 → ongoing: the current hiatus, in effect since Episode 36

As of today, April 20, 2026, the series has been on pause for just over six months – the second-longest break in its publication history so far.

What furanc0 Said When the Current Hiatus Started

When Episode 36 dropped on October 8, 2025, furanc0 announced the break directly in the episode notes. He framed it as a mid-season pause with a specific purpose: building up a buffer so the series can return to a weekly schedule:

“aahh!! we did it!! we got to the middle point of season 1 (its cost me blood and tears huh 😭)!!! this also means OWH will now go on pause for an undisclosed amount of time so I can have episodes ready to publish on a weekly basis once it’s back~ and i’ll do my best so it’s back ASAP”

That goal of building a buffer that allows for reliable weekly updates is consistent with what he’s said in subsequent updates. It’s also a pretty standard approach for Webtoon creators working on long-form projects solo.

A Year of Milestones, Even Without Many Episodes

In December 2025, furanc0 posted a short end-of-year reflection that gives some context to the quieter production year:

“2025 wasn’t a year of a lot of art, but it was a year of a lot of milestones ✨ my boyos got a lot of cute merch, i paid off my student loan, and i started my hrt journey 🏳️‍⚧️💖 none of this would’ve been possible without your support of Our Walk Home!! thank you so much!! 🥹 here’s to 2026 being just as good if not even better!!!”

The Community Conversation Around the Hiatus

If you’ve been searching for information about Our Walk Home‘s hiatus, you’ve probably stumbled across Reddit threads debating the situation, with posts asking what fellow readers think of the series and the writer. Some fans express frustration, others defend the creator.

Earlier in the hiatus cycle, furanc0 shared a longer statement addressing some of the pressure he’d been receiving, essentially drawing a line on what he felt he owed his audience versus his contracting party, Webtoon. That post has since been taken down from his Instagram, so I won’t reproduce it in full here. The short summary: he pushed back on the idea that readers are entitled to a weekly schedule or constant explanations when episodes are delayed, while still expressing gratitude for the support he does receive.

In a separate comment under one of his updates, furanc0 also addressed the repeated questions about a return date directly:

“DO NOT COMMENT ASKING WHEN THE PAUSE IS ENDING im still not sure. i will turn off comments if thats all yall care about”

His more recent updates, especially the December reflection and the April 20 post, focus primarily on his health, his production pace, and his plans for getting the series back on track.

So When Is Our Walk Home Coming Back?

The honest answer: no one knows yet, not even furanc0. What we do know:

  • He’s actively working on it
  • He’s prioritizing a weekly buffer before relaunching
  • He’s protecting his mental and physical health in the process
  • There’s no confirmed return date as of April 20, 2026

I’ll update this article as soon as a return date is announced.
