If you’ve been waiting for I Stan The Prince to come back, I have mixed news. The good news: creator Zoosun is still working. The less good news: they’re not working on I Stan The Prince right now.
Zoosun landed a huge hit with I Stan The Prince, so before his long hiatus statement dropped back in January 2026, a lot of readers (me included) were hoping the comeback wouldn’t be too far off. But it’s going to take a while.
In his January statement, Zoosun explained that I Stan The Prince isn’t cancelled – just paused while they focus on something else first. They said:
“After a long period of careful consideration, I have very cautiously decided to restart webtoon production by working on another project first, even if only temporarily, as had been suggested to me.”
That “as had been suggested to me” part is interesting, right? It sounds like this wasn’t purely his call – more like guidance from his editor or studio. Which happens more often in the manhwa industry than readers probably realize. So What Is Zoosun Working On?
In April, Zoosun gave us the answer. The update, shared on Naver, wasn’t what I expected – Zoosun isn’t the main creator this time. They joined an existing series as a line artist.

Hello. The weather has suddenly turned much warmer – I hope you’ve been doing well.
The project I mentioned before, the one I participated in, was released last week.
It’s The Scandal Maker Has Returned by creator Lemon Frog, and I joined as the “line artist.”
With creator Dongjjok’s exciting storyboards, plus the beautiful coloring and post-production – every time I see the finished result, I’m still amazed.
I’ll work hard and keep learning through this new experience.

What This Actually Means
For anyone not familiar with how manhwa production works: a line artist is the person who handles the clean linework after the storyboards are done, before coloring happens. It’s a collaborative role on a team production, different from leading your own series as the main creator.
The tone of his post (“learning through this new experience,” “amazed every time I see the finished result”) reads like someone deliberately taking a step back to grow, rather than launching another solo project under pressure. Given what Zoosun shared in January about his physical and mental state during I Stan The Prince, that’s probably the healthiest possible move.
