The Korean release of Chapter 101 on December 30, 2023 marked the end of Doom Breaker Season 2. On WEBTOON Global, the season concluded slightly later, on March 9, 2024. Since then, the series has been on an extended hiatus, and fans have been waiting for information about Season 3 and the continuation with Chapter 102.
Across 2024 and 2025, creator Cheongdam published multiple health updates explaining why Doom Breaker has not yet returned. These updates make clear that the hiatus is not a creative pause, but the result of significant medical issues that temporarily prevented her from reading, writing, and drawing.
Below is a structured timeline summarizing what the creator herself stated. While you wait for season 3 you can check out my list of action romance manhwa recommendations.
Doom Breaker Season 3 Release Date: TL;DR
- Chapter 101 released in Korea on Dec 30, 2023
- Season 2 ended globally on March 9, 2024
- The creator suffered severe physical and mental health issues throughout 2024–2025
- She was unable to read or write for months
- She cannot confirm a return date
- She wants to continue the series and is slowly preparing
- Season 3 is delayed, not cancelled
Why Doom Breaker Season 3 is delayed
First half of 2024
In several detailed posts on her Naver creator account, Cheongdam described symptoms that made writing impossible:
- She was unable to read or write at all. “2024년 상반기동안 글을 읽고 쓸 수 없었습니다.”
“In the first half of 2024, I could not read or write.” - Stories no longer appeared coherent to her. “’이야기’가 아니라 ‘글씨’와 ‘그림’이 나열된 것으로 보일 뿐.”
“It didn’t look like a story, only like scattered text and images.” - She also suffered from concentration loss, cognitive issues, and severe fatigue. “머리가 1도 안 돌아감… 집중이 안됨.”“My head wouldn’t work at all… I couldn’t concentrate.”
During this period, work on Doom Breaker was essentially impossible. She explicitly stated that she could not judge her own writing and could not continue the story.
July 5, 2024 – First recovery update for Doom Breakers artist
Cheongdam published a status report stating:
- Recovery would take “more time.” “복귀까지는 앞으로도 시간이 더 걸릴 것 같습니다.”
- She regretted not being able to deliver Season 3 yet, acknowledging that she had hoped to present a “more expanded arc.” “더욱 풍성한 전개가 이어질 시즌 3을… 보여드리고 싶은데 그러지 못해서 답답하다.”
- She stressed that she needed to recover first, then return to work. “먼저 회복하고 열심히 작업해서 어서 좋은 소식 전하도록 하겠습니다.”
This update confirmed clearly that Season 3 was not in production at this time.
July 24, 2024 – Additional medical update
In another illustrated report, she explained:
- She had reached a point where doctors warned her she would need hospitalization if symptoms worsened.
- She could not sit for more than five minutes during the early phase of her hiatus, but could sit longer again by mid-2024.
- Despite partial improvement, she still experienced limitations in mobility and concentration.
She stated that she was slowly preparing for work while managing her health, but not yet capable of full production.
Mid–2024 to early 2025 – Continued instability while working on Doom Breaker Season 3
Throughout mid–2024 into early 2025, Cheongdam continued posting on her Naver creator account – sometimes with illustrations or small updates unrelated to her health – but her longer statements made it clear that she was experiencing recurring cycles of instability.
- attempting to work
- experiencing symptom flare-ups
- needing to rest again
July 16, 2025 – Major progress report on Doom Breaker Season 3, but still not ready to return
This is one of the clearest updates regarding Season 3:
Cheongdam explained:
- Her health was “still unstable.” “건강이 아직 오락가락함.”
- Manuscripts were being produced very slowly. “원고가 늦게 나옴.”
- She had not yet recovered enough to resume regular serialization.
She showed a graph of her “condition curve,” indicating that she repeatedly tried to resume writing but was forced to pause due to physical and cognitive setbacks. She explained that during the first half of 2024, she had been unable to read or write at all, and that even months later, her concentration and stamina remained highly inconsistent.
She also described:
- attempts to reduce workload by bringing in staff
- staff health issues
- additional physical problems (e.g., abdominal surgery for a team member, musculoskeletal issues for herself)
She summarized the two main reasons for the delay:
- Ongoing health instability
- Manuscript delays caused by those symptoms
She added that although her condition had improved compared to early 2024, it had not yet reached the level needed for consistent work.
Doom Breaker Season 3, Release Date: When can we expect Chapter 102?
Based strictly on the creator’s own statements:
- She cannot give a return date. “아직 복귀 시점을 말씀드릴 수 없습니다.”
- She expects recovery and preparation to take more time. “복귀까지는 앞으로도 시간이 더 걸릴 것 같습니다.”
- She is working on manuscripts again, but slowly. “원고가 늦게 나옴.”
- Her ability to concentrate, write, and sit for long periods has improved compared to early 2024, but has not fully returned.
There is no official release date yet, but Season 3 is still planned. Cheongdam’s health is the determining factor — and she has been transparent that recovery must come first.
Fans can feel reassured that the creator remains committed to continuing Doom Breaker once she is able:
“기다려 주시는 독자 여러분께 죄송하고 감사한 마음뿐입니다.”
“I feel only gratitude and apology toward the readers who are waiting.”
Her most recent update on her Naver creator account, posted in September 2025, referred to a game collaboration featuring Doom Breaker characters. In that post, she added that she was “returning to manuscript work,” which suggests that she has regained enough stability to draft pages again, though not yet enough to resume serialization.. This is not an indication of Season 3 readiness; it simply shows gradual improvement. But I believe that Cheongdam will definitely finish Doom Breaker.
